Enhanced Malabsorbtion and No Carbs

I know - but we don’t have the right tools. It’s probably not a fuse - we can hear the engine engage. It might have slipped off the track - we’re in a lopsided site, although the levelers leveled it up ok.

Still don’t know what was wrong, but they removed the cotter pin (is that the shear pin?) and manually cranked it back in, which was not an easy job. As the slide/bed came in, the part they were turning got deeper under the box and they needed longer cranking rods.

In some ways, I’m glad it was NOT something we could have done ourselves. That would have pissed me off. It is still broken, but we can travel, and get it fixed at home. I can get around the foot of the bed by sidestepping with the other slide out.

Vegas here we come! (UGH - traveling to Vegas on a Friday night was something that I had planned to avoid ... oh well.)

And the FMCA roadside assistance just paid for itself - it cost us zero dollars. We gave them a tip of course.

Aaaand it’s always something. The bay door to the power supply was open, and when I raised the jacks and the coach settled and shifted, the door got caught on the power pole and tweaked the hinges. Charles is outside cussing up a storm trying to bend them back so he can close the bay door. I’m staying out of the way, as he not-so-pleasantly suggested. I’m on the bed in the air conditioning, so that’s fine with me.

Oh NO!!!

And we’re finally on the road. Charles tore his middle finger fingernail halfway back into the quick, so I neosporined the hell out of it and taped it up.

I’m looking forward to Vegas. He just wants to go home now.

hope it's smooth sailing from here on out and then maybe he will get back into the spirit of fun.

and hurray for AC!

We had a nice afternoon with Patty and Jeff at our favorite casino - the two of them ate at the buffet and stuck to protein, despite all the other delicious temptations - I was very impressed! And they have both done very very well - they looked great!
Loved seeing the both of you! Thanks for stopping. I know it was a huge PITA!!!!

Well, we did Labor Day cheat day 1 day early because Jeff is playing tonight. He had never had that old classic Ice Box Cake so I made one for us to share. Went to the breakfast/brunch buffet Sunday morning at Main Street Station and I ate nothing healthy. And I had lobster mac-n-cheese dinner at Emerald Island. Had some peanut M&Ms and horseradish chips. It was all quite yummy. Today it's back to food prison.

Looking ahead to Halloween. Yeah, I know it's not a REAL holiday but we decided a long time ago to include it along with Valentine's Day. Just because those are days we can't stand to have nothing and too much deprivation is a bad thing... Then it's Jeff's birthday and lots of holidays ahead.

They are forecasting 2 days of rain so today I will pick up dog poop in the yard. Cooler days are coming and I am gearing up for palm tree wrangling again but it won't be nearly as bad as it was last year. My 2nd bag of gummy bears is almost gone and I need to think about what they do or don't do for me now. My body has definitely adapted to them. Maybe I will wait and buy more after the first of the year.

Now I need to figure out what's for dinner.

It’s just about time to pick your Medicare plan and sign up (can do 3 months in advance), so it goes into effect on Jan 1. And start looking for a hernia surgeon so you can expedite using your coverage ASAP.

I think I am going to call you and learn why you picked what you picked!!!

Why are my eyes bigger than my stomach????? Here I am in the middle of my National Half Price Candy Day cheat, otherwise known as the day after Halloween. Yeah, I know Halloween and Valentine's probably shouldn't be real cheat days but those are 2 days of the year that I would feel horrible if I didn't get something good to eat. Cheat day ends right after dinner, we are going out, and I know I will not have time to eat 1/2 of what I bought. Darn it!

Jeff's birthday and Thanksgiving are right around the corner and it's practically a food fest till the end of the year. So I guess I will pack it up and put it away. I will have to eat the other half of that pint of ice cream though.
