Dr. Ara Keshishian-Disciplinary Order

Here is the relevant portion of the NV code - lists multiple possible reasons, and of course it was the second one:

Grounds for Initiating Disciplinary Action or Denying Licensure

NRS 630.301 Criminal offenses; disciplinary action taken by other jurisdiction; surrender of previous license while under investigation; malpractice; engaging in sexual activity with patient; disruptive behavior; violating or exploiting trust of patient for financial or personal gain; failure to offer appropriate care with intent to positively influence financial well-being; engaging in disreputable conduct; engaging in sexual contact with surrogate of patient or relatives of patient.
****
3.  Any disciplinary action, including, without limitation, the revocation, suspension, modification or limitation of a license to practice any type of medicine, taken by another state, the Federal Government, a foreign country or any other jurisdiction or the surrender of the license or discontinuing the practice of medicine while under investigation by any licensing authority, a medical facility, a branch of the Armed Services of the United States, an insurance company, an agency of the Federal Government or an employer.
So what did happen in California for him to lose his license for a time?

From my post here in 2018...

I have not discussed this with him because I have full confidence in him.

I also do not have ALL the details, but I think I know a few of them...essentially that he had to rely on the info being reported to him as accurate, that he was not in the area (he was moving...his life, his practice, his family...to an area about four hours south of his previous practice), he was OBVIOUSLY stretching himself too thin with patients in two different areas, moving, a very ill family member, and being human--and an exhausted human at that--he fucked up and someone paid the ultimate price.

My guess is that critical information about his patient in Delano was not communicated to him in a way that made it clear to him that he needed to intervene.

I say that because he has, over the 15 years since my surgery, responded to EVERY concern I have presented to him. And there have been several. (And my other guess is that because I'm not the easiest patient on the planet to deal with, he probably responds to everyone in a caring and compassionate manner.)

When I read this I flashbacked to the scene in Casablanca where the police chief was shocked, shocked to find gambling going on in the casino...

No real reason why....
