I just joined this forum and am seeking advice after just fining out my new insurance that starts the first of the year covers weight loss surgery (if meeting medical necessity requirements). I lost a total of 143 lbs. with that surgery. However, I got pregnant at 10 months post op and eventually found out I had a staple line disruption. Not sure if it was from labor/delivery or from a couple of bouts of the stomach flu that 1st year post op. I also developed a pretty severe ulcer at the site of the stoma that has since calmed down with daily use of an acid reducer. I met with a surgeon who recommended a revision and a fix of a hiatal hernia he also discovered, but insurance at the time denied as there was an exclusion in my policy. Now that I found out my new insurance will likely cover the revision, I am starting to explore the possibility. I am very cautious going into this, as I am almost 10 years older than the first time I was considering a revision. Any advice is welcome!
