Considering Mexicali or ALO in Mexico for surgery...concerned about safety.

hello I am considering one of theses Bariatric facilities both are in "scary" areas so I have been told. I am considering going by myself and curious for those who have been to Tijuana or Mexicali did you feel safe? I would probably stay in my hotel the whole time pre op/post op but what if my husband came with me and wanted to get something to eat...I'm worried about the surrounding areas (I believe both facilities put you in the Marriott for post and pre op) any helpful tips or input would be great

I had my surgery in Mexicali, and I felt safe the entire time during my stay . Yes , we are in a beautiful hotel the night before surgery. The rest of the stay , we were in the hospital (my friend slept in the room with me ) She ate in the cafeteria and in a couple of local restaurants.

Awesome thank you for that security is a top concern but I feel pretty confident that all will be ok
