Las Vegas is open again. Like probably most people here, we go out a lot. After 75plus days of quarantine, I am tired of staying home, dishes, and cooking! We are going out tonight to a local casino for Saturday Steak Night. We have declared it a cheat meal and we will order anything we want. No stinkin' salad for me! Bring on the au gratin potatoes!

Not quite sure how it will work but I bet it will be crowded. We plan to make like seniors and go early. They serve till 11pm. My actual preference is late but we have tried that before and they ran out of steaks.

We will have masks and hand sanitizer. But you have to take off the mask to eat. It is a smallish place and social distancing is not always possible. We will just do the best we can. It will probably be a pretty reasonable crowd. At least half will be over 50. It's nice to see people again.

au gratin potatoes sound good! but do you think they can ever have buffets again? maybe if you don't serve yourself.

any outing is a big deal! I went to the farmer's market this morning and really enjoyed it, even though it was small, quiet, and we had to wait in line and keep distance going around in a counterclockwise circle wearing masks. no music, told not to stop and socalize, no consuming products there, no samples.

it was still going somewhere not work or the grocery store!

It was better than I thought. We only had to wait 20 minutes and the food was excellent. We brought leftovers home for the dogs and it was good to do something that wasn't just the grocery store. The casino wasn't much different except that every other machine was shut down. They gave out packages with masks and hand sanitizer in them. The employees had masks with the casino logo on them!

I will be really sad if the buffet never comes back.. They are my absolute favorite.

I'm with you Munchkin, love buffets. I think they will come back, but will look different, probably won't be able to serve yourself, plexiglass screens, who knows what else. But as long as they come back, I'll give them a try. Of course, we don't have the incredible buffets here that you have, but still better than none at all.
