"9" days post op status report

@SHales

Good news just back... Blood levels are improving since discharge. Technology is amazing....phone call with surgeon's nurse turns into an order for labs, electronic to the local hospital, check in, get blood drawn and the nurse from the surgeon calls me back with the results. Total time: 50 minutes!

That is great! I am not worrying about you anymore for now. :D Thank you so much for the updates!

Today I tried adding some refried beans to my diet. So far so good. I felt like if I did not eat something, I would not make it.

I am a little worried however how easy it was for me to get in 4oz.

I hope my sleeve is not too big!

(does everyone have these concerns early out?)

I know I did. Refried beans are very soft so more will fit. If you had eaten chicken or some other dense protein, I doubt you would have managed 4 oz. :)

I did too. Remember that you're probably still numb inside too so you're not going to feel that full sensation. Just measure things for now and stick with soft and moist. (that sounds like a porno gone wrong....)

It is so amazing to have access to people that have been there. Nothing worse than someone telling you how you will feel when they have no personal experience!

that's an awful lot of protein considering you're only 9 days post op. Most people using stick with 30 days of protein by 30 days post-op. You really don't want to overstress your liver while you're healing. Your insides are still so new and healing. Give yourself a chance. This is a marathon, not a sprint.

I'm delighted to read you are feeling well. Please continue to take it easy - as others have pointed out, you may not be feeling everything just yet - and you are still vulnerable. No heavy lifting!!! Keep up the wonderfully smooth recovery and fabulous attitude! :)
