My "Nothing to be worried about" 3 Month Labs

My b6 has been twice the upper limit for as long as it has been tested....since 2011. With an upper limit if 125 at my lab...my highest result was 325 and it was 225 this last go around. I take no additional b6, nor have I ever. There is sime in my multi and that is all. How can I get this...

Current list of known RNY to DS surgeons

I agree with Diana about Dr. Buchwald. Although he did an excellent job revising my RNY to a true DS...that was over 3 years ago and it seems that in the last two years, he has changed his tune. He is old and is not doing his own surgeries anymore....just overseeing the students that do the...

    New to Bariaric Facts

Welcome! I'm in MN. Sorry about the 'bait and don't switch' Dr....so frustrating. The U of MN has top notch DS surgeons as well, if you need more options. Good luck!

High CRP is indicative of inflammation somewhere in your system. Increase B12....you want that around 2000 Increase dry D3 Increase dry K1...get the biotech K1-1000. That A is pretty low....you are risking your night vision....If I were in your place I would go right to 100,000 iu per...

    Dealing with know-it-alls!

Yes, at times you will find that everyone around you thinks they know everything. Sometimes it is just best to say 'thank you for your concern' and move on. Sometimes just stopping and giving them 'the look' will make them realize they are overstepping. Sometimes....you just can't fix stupid...

    Smart people, foolish choices

Peanut butter cookie from Eileens Colossal Cookies. Homemade taste that I can't deny. Bloat city though.

    Oral Iron and Iron Infusions

I have had three iron infusions over the past three years. I started taking proferrin forte after my last infusion. My numbers are still trending down, but not as quickly. Maybe I'll be able to spread out the time between infusions...they get expensive.

Liquid Vitamin at Costco (liquid calcium too)

Make sure to watch your B6 levels closely with this. There is a lot of B6 in this multi and as post-ops we tend to get toxic on B6 quickly.

So I had the education class today

It IS very frustrating. My MN DSers group actually had a monthly meeting with the surgeons that do the DS at the U of M. The nutritionist was there as well. We had the meeting set up with them to specifically address the misinformation that the office gives to DSers. There had to have been...

    Need some motivation!

Yeah, I don't like exercise either. Right now I have an excuse not to, lol. After my plastics on Dec 2nd I am still on a 10lb lifting restriction. When I asked Dr. Lokeh about exercise at my last visit he looked at me like I was crazy. He said no for a while yet. That's fine with me, lol...

    Pannilectomy and Abdominoplasty

Definitely not crazy brooklyngirl. I have definitely developed a healthy respect for plastics now. I would still like to get a boob job and get my arms done sometime. Pulling down the good skin to make my flat belly pulled down my boobs even more, lol. Now there really is not much left...

    Pannilectomy and Abdominoplasty

Hello all! Plastics. Lots of wls patients think about it and wonder if they can do it. Financially especially. I was blessed to be able to have this done on Dec 2, 2013. I am going to be blunt. It hurt like HELL! I vastly underestimated this surgery. Some serious stuff with this I tell...

    I am a lightweight

I was considered a lightweight as well. At 5'7" and 250 the day of my revision....I 'only' had about 90 lbs to lose. After my plastics I am holding in the mid 160's. I think once I get rid of all the swelling, I might be in the low 160's. Nice place to be!
