    Dr. Sauceda RealSelf account suspended

I had plastic surgery with Dr Sauceda in Feb 2020 and had a great experience. I chose to recover in Monterrey for a month and was very well cared for, much better than if I had flown home sooner.

10 Year Post-OP RNY Weightloss Study

I’m 5 years post-gastric bypass and my BMI is holding steady at around 19.6. Hopefully I’ll be a long term success case.

    Hiatal hernia repair after DS

Dr K repaired my hiatal hernia in 2018 after gastric bypass in 2017. I had severe GERD pre-WLS and am doing so much better now. He also did a Nissen fundoplication and removed my LINX device during the hernia repair surgery.

    Bariatric Revision

Stratuspur: Your severe reflux could be due to your hiatal hernia. You should definitely be evaluated by a DS surgery expert to see if you’re a candidate or not for WLS revision to DS versus RNY.

    Rny to DS

Dr Keshishian operated on me a few years ago at Huntington Hospital (in Pasadena) and it was covered by insurance. It wasn’t WLS or RNY to DS revision, but was a different GI surgery to resolve some complex abdominal issues. I was very happy with my care and results. Dr K definitely does RNY...

    Third COVID immunization

I took my 86 year old father to get his 3rd Moderna shot at Walgreens yesterday. He was exactly 6 months post 2nd shot.

    Passports and Passport Cards

My passport book and passport card expire in Nov 2022. I need to start thinking of getting them renewed, especially because I‘d like a cuter picture, it’ll take awhile to complete the process, and to minimize hiccups with future travel. My last passport photo was taken when I was heavier and I...

    heatwave!

Stay cool PNW! I returned from an 8-day river rafting trip in the Grand Canyon a few days ago. It was an AMAZING bucket list trip but the heat was the highest I’ve ever experienced. I think it got up to 120 degrees on multiple days. Thank god for the cold river water to douse myself in...

    Creon, dammit.

I have steatorrhea; my UCLA gastroenterologist diagnosed it after numerous tests and prescribed Creon a few days ago. I’m nervous to take it because I don’t want to gain weight and I’m concerned about its numerous side effects. My stinky oily poos are not as bad recently; not sure why this has...

Revision from sleeve to DS or RnY

I have had GERD for many years, including Barrett’s Esophagus, and I have a family history of esophageal cancer (all died from it). I had gastric bypass and have never experienced dumping or vomiting from it. Thankfully, my GERD was greatly reduced with GB and I no longer have Barrett’s...

    Possible SIBO and peristalsis issues

I’ve been having a number of GI issues for the last year (e.g. bloating, oily/smelly stools, abdominal pain, low BMI, heartburn...). My recent EGD+Bravo and colonoscopy showed nothing (i.e. no Crohn’s, polyps, ulcers, gastritis or esophagitis), just acid reflux, which I’ve struggled with for...

    List of known DS surgeons

The location of Dr Keshishian’s office is incorrect in the google doc. He is in Pasadena (next to Huntington Hospital), not in Glendale.

    Covid Vaccination?

I received my first Moderna shot on 1/27/21 and my second one on 2/26/21. I’m under 65 but qualified as a “healthcare” worker because I’m my 86 year old father’s sole home caretaker, and he has qualifying neurological issues (i.e. dementia, Parkinson’s, strokes, and Normal Pressure...

    Calcium and my poor butt.

I add coconut oil to my coffee everyday. I haven’t tried Kerry Gold butter yet. Will have to try it and see which one I prefer.

And, not everything comes to a halt...

How are they finding out? I haven’t heard of any place that has really started antibody testing yet; just that it will come soon.

    Sunday Weigh In (4/5/2020)

This Week: 120.0 Two Weeks Ago: 119.6 I’ve been in contact with Dr K about my GI issues (e.g. loss of appetite, stomach pain, nausea, struggling to gain weight) and the next step is an EGD; however, can’t be done at a hospital-based center. I’m waiting to find out if my insurance will cover an...

    Panic Attack???

I have had to tell 4-5 people while waiting in line at stores to back the eff up, or at least that’s what I wanted to say. I said something else, slightly kinder but very forcefully and I definitely got my point across. They backed up. Teaching people what 6 ft distance is, is annoying. I don’t...

    Sunday Weigh In (3/22/2020)

Is he practicing at Seattle Cancer Care Alliance? I go there for my breast health after I had a lumpectomy with one of their surgeons a number of years ago. I’ll have to reach out to him and get his advice (virtually). I’m flying back to LA in a few days, now that my COVID-19 test has come back...

Great reminder - I need to contact Dr K as I’m sure he’ll provide some good advice.

    Sunday Weigh In (3/22/2020)

T Thanks. I‘ve been at a good weight lately but being sick recently has created this issue. I’ve bought ice cream and other goodies (e.g. Theo Chocolate) but I can’t really stomach them. I’ve been making smoothies with lots of protein added, and loaded with great ingredients, just how I like...
