    RNY to DS

I was thinking about you the other day and wondering how things have been going for you. Congrats on your weightloss! I'm excited that I got my insurance approval letter yesterday and in process of scheduling, mostly likely, in Jan. Can't wait to get going : )

14 years out from RnY - considering revision to DS

I spoke to Dr. Bilof four or five months ago. At that point he had done about 10 RNY to DS. He hadn’t had any complications thus far. I kept up with two of his patients for awhile and they were doing great. Both were losing about 10 lbs a month. One thing to know, you probably can’t use him if...

Complications after 15 yrs post op

I’m glad to hear you’re doing well! Yes, BCBS is requiring it for approval. I’m so curious, what are you needing to learn about the DS?

Complications after 15 yrs post op

I had to start my 6-month supervised diet in May, so I won’t have surgery until December. How are you doing?

Complications after 15 yrs post op

On the east coast, you could talk with Dr. Bonnani and Dr. Antanavicius (Dr. G.) in PA. They have a great program and say they have done 200+ revisions from rny to DS. I was going to use Dr. G, but discovered Dr. K in CA takes my insurance, so I’m using him now. Best of luck!

    Stressing over Insurance requirements

I’m so sorry you’re policy is discriminatory and unhelpful. I’m not sure that it’s something you will be able to get around. But, of course, I’m not an expert in these matters. Most employers offer 2-3 insurance options. Is there another insurance company you could switch too? If not, there are...

Dr. Keshishian and out of state insurance

On a whim, I decided to reach out to Dr. Keshishian's office about my insurance. They said my bcbs from NY would also be in network with the CA bcbs. Has anyone had their bcbs from another state be in network? If this is true, I will be able to have my conversion surgery with him! And, they...

    Gut, Brian and Digestion

I really appreciate this! I agree there is a lot of money being made off of something that's been around for ages. I've done years of probiotics and just wasn't sure about how the DS would be affected.

    Gut, Brian and Digestion

My partner had huge tremors after an injury that they treated as if it were Essential Tremors. She did neurofeedback and it healed her tremors. It's supposedly is the main treatment protocol. Have you tried it before?

Wow...thank you!!! This makes me feel much better about taking all the gut health supplements. I'd love to know how it goes with your Mom.

    Gut, Brian and Digestion

Thank you to everyone who has posted such great information about vitamins and lab work. I've been learning a lot about the differences living with a DS vs RNY. I'm curious about supplements that produce a healthy gut. My Mother had Alzheimer’s and my father has Parkinson and there is growing...

    How many carbs?? Plataue

Thanks for continuing to share your experience! Since I'm getting a rny revision to the ds, I'm so curious about how things have been going for you. Were you able to break the 40lb lost stall that you were in around month 3? Do you work out much? Keep going! You can do thiso_O
