    Vision Issue

Everyone, I apologize for not updating about this situation sooner. After extensive Cardiac testing, I was referred to a Neurologist for more extensive testing. Long story short, couldn't find anything. All cardiac looks good and all neuro looks good. Relieved. Followed up again with the...

    Still confused

As I posted recently in the Vision Issue thread I'm on a bit of an odyssey to find out what caused my temporary vision loss a few weeks ago. Latest is the Cardiologist says BP good, Cholesterol is good, Caratid artery ultrasound good. Wants to send me to do a bubble test and a T. E. E. At...

    Vision Issue

Well, nice guys do finish last. Waited all day yesterday for the promised return call from the Cardiologist regarding the scheduling of the T. E. E. test and possible monitor results. Didn't get a call. So, I called first thing this morning only to get a recording saying that they are closed...

    Vision Issue

Well, the Hurry Up and Wait syndrome is happening again. One doctor whisks you off to a Cardiologist with haste only to be told the test you need can't be scheduled for at least a month. Which is it, urgent or not? Who knows? Very frustrated and scared.

    Vision Issue

Well, I went yesterday for the Carotid artery ultrasound and to be fitted with the Holter monitor which I have to wear for 24 hours. However, they were unable to do the Heart ultrasound because of my implants. Therefore, I must now do a TransEsophageal Echo. This just keeps getting better...

Well, no real update yet but I go tomorrow for the carrotid ultrasound and a heart ultrasound and to be fitted with a Holter Monitor. Not sure how long I'll have to wear it. Go for results on 9/6. Please send me your good thoughts everyone. Pretty scared when they start throwing around words...

    Vision Issue

Have seen Retinal specialist and he believes there has been some sort of embolytic activity. Was sent over to Cardiologist and will be moving forward with Corrotid Artery Ultrasound, Heart Ultrasound etc. Pretty scared at this point. Is it possible to have artery issues with good cholesterol...

    Vision Issue

Let me just add that I already have, and am treated for Dry Eye, which I'm told is unrelated to this problem. Also, after taking the prescribed Aspirin before going to the E. R. my symptoms went away and have not returned since. So, it seems that this could be vascular in nature. I am...

    Vision Issue

I'm 13 years out and have had several issues that plague some of us DS'ers. However, my latest medical issue has me a little worried and I was wondering if anyone else might have had similar experiences. Before I go on I want to say that I often try to link everything to the DS, possibly...

Contrave, anybody have experience with this DRUG?

Well, it's been 9 days and I'm now on the 2x a day dose. I feel pretty good and have only had very minor nausea about an hour after taking each dose. So far, I'm down 2 maybe 3 pounds. I really do feel like I'm craving sweets less. I feel like I don't obsess about something sweet and how I...

    Porkchops

Maybe your body is saying it isn't ready for dense solid protein like pork chops. 12 years later I still have to be very careful with pork chops. I love them but they do give me the "stuck" feeling if I go to fast or too big with bites. Slow down if it's only been 5 weeks. Careful!

Contrave, anybody have experience with this DRUG?

Well, here's my update. I did decide to go ahead and try Contrave. This is currently Day 4 for me. So far, no major side effects. Some very mild nausea and mild sleepiness. I will admit to showing less interest in foods/snacks. I know it is very early but I will continue unless I...

    Iron infusion

I've been getting infusions for about 6 years now. Ferrocit(not sure about spelling) Used to wait until my iron was in the tank and have to do 8 weeks in row. Now we're trying to do more of a maintenance situation 1 time every 8 weeks. Never had any bad reaction. Nurses in the Chemo lab do...

Contrave, anybody have experience with this DRUG?

I haven't yet decided if I'm going to try it but if I do I will be sure to monitor my BP closely. I have kept off 150 pounds for over 10 years but this last year or so I have crept up about 15 pounds. I find that I binge on sweets when I'm stressed or anxious. My dietary habits haven't...

    Kale

I personally like kale but have found on a couple of occasions that it might not like me very much. I know that it is pretty difficult to digest. Has anyone else here had any bad episode of pain and gas after eating kale or anything else? Being 12 years post op I can eat almost anything I...
