So happy for you! I know how frustrating insurance companies can be.

Dr. Prachand will be out of town on May 20th. My new date is June 10th. After the fight I had with insurance, 3 weeks will fly by quickly. Can't wait to join the Dark Side.

Thanks so much! I've been battling BCBSIL since January 2015. They wouldn't authorize an Upper GI. They denied band removal. Then they approved removal and denied revision. I'm so excited. I had buyer's remorse 6 months out.

Just got the word from Dr. Prachand's office. I got approved on peer to peer. I'm in shock. Going to prep meeting on May 2nd and will be getting a surgery date sometime this week.

Hello everyone, Does anyone have a template for a first level appeal letter. My doctor is doing peer to peer on April 6th, but I want to get started on it just in case. Thanks in advance.

@DianaCox I tried this Friday. BCBSIL doesn't have a HiPAA officer. They have a HIPAA department. I have to mail in the request. They couldn't provide me with the first name or credentials of the doctor who denied me either. Just J. Blackstone MD. I tried to Google that and came up with nothing.
