    Hello from California

And I’ll add, Doctors are human beings. They don’t always have the answers. It’s often up to us to run experiments and see what works for us. We are all so unique that what works for one may not work for another.

    Hello from California

Thanks for the details. Yes, please share your labs and values as that can give us the bigger picture. We know your protein is low so the sources you are currently using don’t seem to be doing you any favors. I think that’s a good first step, swap your current proteins for a whey isolate...

    Hello from California

Hey there, welcome and I’m sorry to hear of the challenges you are going through. My first thoughts are working on the labs first and then work on building muscle. You can‘t build a house without a strong foundation. I think you are on the right path with your eating and tracking, but I think...

    I might have ADHD!

I do highly recommend the YouTube channel, How to ADHD with Jessica McCabe. It’s a great resource for helping you understand yourself and move yourself in the direction you need to accomplish what you want. It’s not a one-size fits all diagnosis or way of living. She has a book coming out soon...

    I might have ADHD!

Oh I’ve got a number of symptoms already, night sweats, mood swings, etc. I’m just hoping it doesn’t get worse.

    I might have ADHD!

As I get older, I also believe I have some level of ADHD as well. But I have always been a very structured person and I think that’s how I dealt with it and was able to hide it. The older I get the worse it’s getting and I’m struggling to keep to routines. I am really struggling right now with...

I’m placing this here for limited access

Too funny! yeah I’m not here often. I wish this forum were more active because I love that it’s not on FB. The only reason I still have FB is for the DS groups since they are more active than here,

Recommended long AL and CC lengths

I had my DS at 32 with a 150cm CC. The surgeon gave me a very small stomach with the longer CC to allow me more absorpotion which would (ideally) allow for less long-term nutritional complications. I am quite healthy and my labs are generally good. I think it worked. But, I also never got super...

I’m placing this here for limited access

I’m interested as of now. I’m also a tech person and the costs are likely very minimal for me. I’m not as active here but it’s the first place I go when I need something.

    Sunday Weigh In (10/1/2023)

Last week: 166.6 This week: 165.8 Eating was all over but netted out well. I haven’t been tracking or eating my Factor meals so the weight going down does confuse me. Trying to not look a gift horse in the mouth though!

    Sunday Weigh In (9/24/2023)

Last week: 168.8 This week: 166.6 (though I had a dip to 165.6 which was nice to see) Good downward movement. I worked on closing my rings and did not get started on strength training which is annoying but that’s on me, for sure.

    mounjaro and ozempic

If you are eating less, you’ll definitely want to keep on top of your macros, labs, and supplements. I’m sure you know this but I’m saying it anyway. Be safe!

    mounjaro and ozempic

Thanks for the details. I’ve been curious about it and read the articles on the other supplements that calling things “natures ozempic.” I am curious though if this impacts how much food you are able to take in and support your labs. Is it mostly hitting the head hunger for you or the...

There are a couple people on some of the FB groups using it with good success. Glad it’s working for you. OOC, did you try going back to basics before you started it?

    Sunday Weigh In (9/17/2023)

I‘m not a fan of Facebook (in general) but I recently found a group called, “Bariatric Weight Lifters” which I find inspiring. Because we are all bariatric (mostly sleev & RNY, tbh) and there’s differences in how we look, I find it encouraging to see people that have bodies like mine.

    Sunday Weigh In (9/17/2023)

Closing Rings is Apple Watch terminology. You have daily goals to meet including calories, standing hours, and exercise minutes. Standing hours are helpful if you have a desk job, like I do, to prevent me from staying sitting too long. I have mine set for the default of 12 but I’m usually...

Does anyone have/remember the REALLY old…

I was obsessed with protein coffees for a long time, still am, honestly. I prefer mine hot. Add a large scoop of chocolate protein to a few ounces of hot water* and shake in a shaker bottle. Add your heavy cream to a mug (I do 1/2 cup) and “steam,” which for me is 70 seconds at 70% power. Add...

    Sunday Weigh In (9/17/2023)

Last weigh-in, 9/8: 168.8 Today: 168.8 Not bad at all. I closed my rings every day while on my week in DC. I had protein rich breakfast (eggs plus ham, bacon, etc.) and dinners (steak & bison most nights) but had sandwiches for most lunches, chips, and cookies for snacks. OMG why were there so...

Sunday Weigh In (9/3/2023) Labor Day Weekend

I maintained from last week, which is good. We did a stay in Seattle over the holiday weekend and went to Bumbershoot (a two day music/arts festival). I decided not to bother trying to track anything. I also didn't go crazy with eating either. I walked about 14k steps on Saturday and on Sunday...
