Since my last bone scan, my bone density has improved 5% in my spine and 8% in my hip. Since starting Prolia, that's a total improvement of 14% in my spine and 13% in my hip. I realize and respect that everyone must find the treatment that is best for them. Just some objective numbers that I wanted to share with you. I'm not doing a happy dance because I don't want to fall, but I am doing a happy sit.

Thank you for sharing. Your comment about falling doing your happy dance literally made me crack up because I just finished 2 years on Forteo and I am getting ready to take prolia. Three weeks ago while walking to help build-up my bone density I tripped and fell and crushed my left wrist. so the struggle is real thanks for sharing your good news story I am hopeful.

Blessings
Julie

Ouch! Yeah, I'm a bit paranoid about falling. My mom broke her hip when she twisted getting off the toilet. She then crashed onto the sink and fractured some ribs and punctured her lungs. She had severe osteoporosis. I'm hoping that mine won't be as bad as hers.
Sending healing wishes.

I guess they decided the other fractured bone in your forearm (I can never remember which is which) will heal by itself? That looks terrible.

I’m thinking about buying a 60Up for balance exercising. I have huge bones for my size and age (67), but a bit of osteopenia. Maybe Dad could use it too.

Yes, the radius was set in the ER while under Propapal and did not require hardware. The 60up looks interesting. I'm back to my evening walks. Just watching the cracks in the sidewalk closer.

We all need to learn to fall safely. Don’t put your arms out to break your fall (unless to protect your head) - that will result in a FOOSH injury.

That’s how I broke the only bone I’ve ever broken - fell roller skating, after stepping out of the rink onto carpet. My feet went out from under me, and I fell on my butt - while putting my arm down. Slightly crushed my radius near the elbow, and tore my labrum in my shoulder.

When I took ski lessons, the first thing I was taught was how to fall. FOOSH fractures are said to be horrible. Even the small hills of Ohio were skiable. I'm pretty sure even 8 inches of fluffy snow would be hazardous for me now.

Interesting. That's how my mother broke her wrist in 1996 after a giant snowstorm.
