Enhanced Malabsorbtion and No Carbs

Winter here is pretty much over. 72 and sunny today. Worked out in the yard for a few hours and I realized I have been slacking off on the physical activity. I need to get more active again. Low carb is going well. Tonight's dinner is meatloaf, sauteed mushrooms, and watercress salad. Found the watercress at the dollar store of all places... And it's hydroponic and clean. Nothing like that dirty stuff that grows in ditches.

Watercress. Makes me feel vaguely British!

I've never tried watercress, what does it taste like?
Our weather is very unsettled but lots of signs of spring and warm enough so the giant ice piles we had all month are almost gone, thank goodness.
72° sounds like heaven!

One thing diets taught me well was that I would always fail. I have to say that lately I have been hating dieting even more than usual. Looking for excuses and opportunities to eat something 'good'. I do have some cheat days coming up. 4/11 is because we are going to a baseball game and I refused to go if I couldn't eat! And then there is Overeast(Passover/Easter).

Today I motivated myself with even intending to. I was switching out my closet for summer and OMG... I am down to my fighting weight or damn close to it. I can now wear all the clothes I wore at my thinnest. And I am also back in my stilettos. I can wear and walk in them again. It all started when I put on some shorts and a tshirt. And the shorts fell off. That got me started trying on other stuff. And if I had to try on dresses, I had to try on the heels. And one thing led to another. Of course, nothing looks good because of the hernia. But the clothes fit! I am going to force myself onto the scale some day soon. I am back in jeans with teeny tiny zippers even.

Sizes still suck. I fit in some 6/8 and yet...I still have a pair of size 12 Lauren cords in my closet the won't go past my fat ass. But we all know life isn't fair.

So...new goal. 130something before the hernia surgery. Now I am going to celebrate by buying 5lbs of SF gummy bears. 130 would be a new forever low for me and my BMI would be...magic...normal...19.8. Do I dare dream?

Wow! I can’t wait to see you in July! (Did I mention we’re swinging through LB for a few days in July on our way home from 2+ months in CA this summer?)

I wore silver jeans last night. Silver! Probably too young for me. Not really shiny, just a little. They sort of look like a sparkly grey. With matching shoes. They came from the thrift store but they were new with the tags still on. When I tried them on the first time I had to lay down on the bed to do the button and zipper. This time there was no laydown necessary. I kept having to pull them up all night and when I came home, I took them off without undoing the button and the zipper. They are now too big.

Jeff brought up the idea of a belt. I have never owned one. In my life!

I wish that worked for me! I got 2lbs of gummy bears and it had the opposite effect on me...

You are different. Those SF gummy bears are touted as being the best colon cleanse ever. You should read the reviews on Amazon. And don't be drinking anything while you are reading. They are hilarious!

:ROFLMAO:I've read them! OMG! I did spew but luckily didn't hit anything!

Got out there yesterday and wrangled the last palm tree. The big one! Now that was work. I got everything cut down but it's still all laying there. I can walk under it now. It is half the tree it used to be. I am not picking anything up till tomorrow. because first of all, I hurt, and next I did either disturb or cut down a wasp nest. I am giving them till tomorrow to get over it. I had terrible leg cramps last night. I am sure from all the climbing.

Also picked up all the poop because they say rain is coming. And lopped off a few fronds in the big palm patch because I don't want it to ever get as bad as it was last time. Chopped a few things in the front yard too. As soon as I get all the palm stuff picked up and gone, the front yard comes next. I will be moving tons of gravel. Literally tons. And I have a partially dead tree to work on out there too.

Took me a few days but the whole yard is weeded. I have a few places I have to spray but I have to wait for a day with no wind.

Went out to dinner last night and crap, I cheated. I had dessert. But I am right back on plan this morning. At least till Memorial Day.

I am now working on my 2nd bag of gummy bears. I have come to a conclusion. For me it has been possible to adapt to increased ingestion of sugar alcohols. 10 gummy bears no longer has the same effect on me that it used to. Unlimited consumption still leads to diarrhea but 10 bears, MEH. No big deal.

I had an amazing score on shrimp last week at Smith's. 2lbs of frozen big shrimp for $3.99. The limit was 5 so I had 10lbs of shrimp in the freezer. We ate 1 bag already. The cocktail sauce is carby but that's OK. Shrimp deals like that don't happen all that often. I will live with the carbs in the sauce. Delicious! And someone gave me a turkey they didn't want. Took up too much space in their freezer. So we ate that too! One of those cage free, organic, free range things that I never buy because they are too expensive. Sorry but it wasn't as good as a Butterball.

The palm tree is all cleaned up and ready for bulk pickup next week. I have to go get tomorrows trash pickup out to the street and make sure the can is full. I made a deal with our neighbor who just replaced his roof. He has one of those huge construction dumpsters coming and I am going to load it for him. In return I get to trash a sofa and 2 twin box springs I need to get rid of. YAAAY!

I keep on looking for things I can do to get exercise that have value to me. Makes it much less a waste of time. But loading that dumpster will be work! Time to get busy and work on the trash!
