Sunday Weigh In (4/7/2019)

Last week: 205.4
This week: 204.4

Now that I’m back on the H. Pylori antibiotics and drinking the occasional vanilla milkshake for extra calories and hydration when I’m not barfing, my weight has dipped lower then higher this week. I hope to be rid of these critters after this quadruple therapy my PCP has me on.

I hope you stop getting sick and stabilized.

A really trying week and this one will be too. My brother, the one I give meds to twice a day and try to help, had been feeling not well. He started complaining of toe pain and when I had him take his sock off I nearly fainted. Some toes looked discolored and dark, and not clean. I got him to doctor and she sent us to hospital but before I could get him there he got sicker and had to call EMS. His bp went real low, heart rate went high, AFib, septic. Put on two high powered antibiotics and transferred him to a Nashville hospital. We went to see him yesterday and it’s about a two hour trip with a highway being horrible due to construction and Nashville traffic is horrible on a good day! Not sure how it’s going to go, I have a feeling he will try to refuse rehab and I just don’t think I can do it...take care of him. It’s a real problem, and I know it’s going to get even more difficult.

A doctor called me today and said they’d determined shards of cholesterol had broken loose and caused clots and went as far as they could go which was to the toes. Thinking no surgery will be needed, blood thinners to help. Today (we didn’t go) and it’s the first day since Oct 2, 2018 (when he had a stroke) that I haven’t been at hospital with him or at his house at least twice per day and often more. We have his little dog, Ginger, here with our three. She’s loving it!

Take care of yourselves, everyone, and appreciate your health!

Had a pretty good drop last week so I suppose I was due a 'meh' week.
Even a meh week was still over half a lb. Not bad at all.

I'm so sorry you and your family are going through this! I hope he decides to go to rehab so you can get some rest.

Spring is here! I
it's a cold, cloudy one here, but still YAY Spring!

Last Week 124.1
This Week 121.7?

I didn't write it down yesterday because it was lower, again, so I waited until today. and it's lower. I have my concierge doctor until the end of the month and - I think! - I have health insurance until this friday. and after that have a big moving sale and go to Colorado Springs where I don't have a doctor or a job. so this is scary.

I have a mammogram scheduled for this today and my doctor tried to get me in for a colonoscopy but there isn't time so she wants me to do the test where you have your stool tested for blood.

I'm going to write her in a minute ...I guess I need labs again, can you think of anything else she could do with so little time?

this really cranks up my anxiety, I can tell you.

You can...if it works the way it used to...take up to 30 days after the loss of your job to enroll in COBRA.

So...again, if it works the way it used to...you can leave your job and if—in the next 30 days—you have no medical issues, you can sign up for your ACA insurance or your new job-related insurance, and carry on with your life. But, if three weeks after you leave your job, you need LOTS of medical coverage, you can opt in to COBRA and be covered as if you were still at the old job. (Although I don’t know how out-of-state might be covered on your current policy...some have massive restrictions.)

You can start looking for a new doctor now, make an appointment and, depending on what you do about insurance, make your own initial appt with a GI doctor, all from NV.
