It’s been nine years since I was woke up in intensive care in London Kings College Hospital under the lovely by care of Prof Patel.

My life has taken a wild 360 degree shift since this life choice and I now work offshore, have financial stability, am undertaking my Mastees and killing it. I’m happy I’m alive but missing a boob and my uterus, ovaries and cancer.

My hysterectomy has caused weight gain and my size 6 (uk 10) skinny jeans are now too tight. I need to change my diet to take in my slowing metabolism and this presents its own challenges but I’ll do it gratefully.

I have had my first iron infusions in 2018. I developed extremely low Iron levels after a lifetime of very high Iron levels boardering on haemachromatosis. I have also been living with granuloma annularare ( discus rash) which is autoimmune related. This kicked into high gear the year after my DS. I assume the inflammatory response in my shrinking body creates the perfect storm. I have very intense treatment for triple negative breast cancer and that has truly terraformed me down to a cellular level. I live daily with the side effects.

At any rate I’d do it all again...all of it! I hope I can get some plastics this year. I may be over on your side of the planet for this.

I love and loathe my DS but without it I truly wouldn’t be here. Thank you to my beloved community who have supported and loved me through it.

Here’s to many more years of fabulousness!

And you SHALL camp out here.

If your plastics doc is in Tijuana, it's a two-hour drive. (Getting back, under current conditions, might just be impossible.)

But...here. Disneyland first, then the ocean, maybe the mountains depending on time of year, then plastics. While you recover, David is all mine. We will go to candy places!

Should I call you? The first time we spoke, you were pre-op, wandering around London, just about nine years ago, eh?

Honestly I’m a wanker when I’m recovering from shit. I adore you and don’t want to ruin our sarcastic friendship with my post op misery! Still researching however there is a fab chap in Costa Rica and a magic woman in Mexico. Both do fantastic work. David will just be busy basking in your presence. He would never turn down an E-number thiugh

Yes, on both.

I almost went to CR. We have one or more vets from there on this board. Mexico also has a great reputation. Just don't assume a simultaneous US visit without factoring in the border mess.

Also, when AREN'T you a wanker? (Asking for, you know, the population of New Zealand, Australia, and the UK.)

I’m always a wanker but the severity varies. CR is leading...also boarder....will this be an issue flying in and out?

I don’t think you’re brown enough...unless...you don’t wear burqas do you? That could be iffy.

Mr Sue says you might have to fly via Canada. But he’s just being an arse. We really don’t know. Besides, the power base changes in DC this week...so the situation MIGHT resolve in a bit.
