Hi all,

Well, my blood sugar is low. A1C is less than 4.0. I'm seeing the Dr on Monday, but does anyone have any insight into this and if it's a big deal. There is very little on the internet about it. I keep getting results for a high A1C.

Will this impact my DS and what I need to eat? I'm totally getting sugar crashes about an hour after I eat ice cream, but other sugars seem OK, but I don't eat much other sugars, so hard to tell. Fruit seems fine.

Thanks all.

But you have been dieting the last few months. Right? Very low carb and a liquid diet even. So these results are skewed because you have not been eating normally! I know how bad you wanted that goal weight. Unless you have a problem this is no big deal because you made it happen.

In a couple months of continued very low carbing, I would get the same results.

I have not been anywhere close to perfect on the low carb liquid diet. In fact, I would say, it's not been very good. but the weight is coming off. I'm really close.

Seeing the Dr on Monday. Lets see what she says.
What Munchkin said. The only other fact in low A1C is being anemic since it measures red blood cells.

I will gladly give you a full point of my A1C!

You can have two! :)

Generally, the treatment is to eat small frequent meals that contain protein and limit sugar.

Hmmmm.....no ice cream is a bad option.....i don't like that...lol.

I had reactive hypoglycemia with my RnY when I was crashing I needed to eat protein so a piece of cheese or meat would counter react the hypoglycemia I know your not a RnYer but thought maybe this tidbit might be interesting.:(:)

So, I went to the Dr today. She said, your glucose is fine, and my A1C was a little low. She said it's most likely NOT hypoglycemia. but the fact I was stopping the phentermine. And that I'm fine.

She also looked at my tummy and said, the fat you are trying to get rid of is really mostly skin. A tummy tuck will do more than losing another 3 pounds.

I'm going to Vegas on Sat to get a consultation with the Plastic Surgeon, we will see what he says.
