Managing vitamins when travelling and living out of a suitcase

Hi all. Looking for some ideas to manage vitamins while perpetually on the road.

At the moment, I have the MedCenter 31-day set-up. I also have the weekly travel set.

Has anyone done longer term travel living out of a suitcase with some ideas about how to manage carrying vitamins around? I'm assuming I will have to be finding 'close enough' options at local stores more frequently, or else getting things shipped to Air BnB or housesitting assignments from iHerb.

Munchkin Have you had any issues with Customs? I'm tempted to carry them in the bottles to avoid any dramas, but they're quite bulky... I am hoping to stay for 2-4 weeks in each place, so getting things shipped becomes a little more doable.

I carry my vitamins and meds in baggies rather than bottles to save space. I include the labels from the bottles - I just peel them off and stick them to a piece of paper. For meds, I carry the prescription information from the pharmacy and where available, the flattened boxes as well. No problems with anything ever, even controlled substances and injectibles with needles.

I just went through this. Flying in to Amsterdam, Customs has two exits from luggage pickup: nothing to declare, something to declare. I just walked out the "nothing to declare" line and was done

Yep, I do that usually with my shorter trips. Just not sure about doing it with half a suitcase full of pills coming into Berlin. But we'll see how I go! I'm an EU citizen (for now), so I get a super light touch experience anyway.

How about taking a picture of each vitamin next to the bottle it comes in? That way you have some sort of documentation and it would be easier than trying to take the label off, which may not be an option with many vitamins.

I've gotten pretty sloppy traveling with vitamins and pills, and don't have anything in labeled bottles anymore, and don't even keep the labels if I put things in baggies. Of course, we have not flown in/out of Berlin, and I'm a US citizen, so there are always variables, but every time I just think "if this is the time they confiscate my vitamins, can I get what I need when there or live without some until I get home?" and the answer is usually yes.

The only issues I've had, were things that were snagged out of a checked bag, and it was mostly calcium (what a sad, constipated thief that must be) but the stuff that would be more bothersome to replace I keep in a carry on.

That valuable, valuable calcium! Good idea about the carry on. I would have a week's on me in my pill sorter at least.

I might just get my PCP to write me a letter before I go. Explains my drug stash and gives me peace of mind.

Thanks for your ideas, everyone!
