This week's surgery...

Poor Spiky! but I'm so glad you showed up today, I was going to do a shout out if you didn't. How did the procedure go and what did they find?
Hopefully, once the stent is out, you'll feel better.

Two questionable spots were shadows. The urologist lasered the 6.5mm stone and removed the pieces. One stone that was probably the stuck one probably passed with help from FloMax.

Apparently, right now, the bottom of my keft kidney (we didn't visit the right one) has more sand than the beaches of Ipanema...from all the ESWL procures.

The Vicodin is working right now, I'm waiting to see if the pyridium shows up which SHOULD indicate some numbness which will make me brave enough to remove the stent...except...

(wait for it)

I'm having a bit of trouble locating the string...lol

Oh, my.

Well, I've heard of (and met) some people who can't find their ass with both hands, but a string?? Come on Spiky, you can do this.

Glad your lithotripsy got the stones. Egads about all the sand as that's kinda like peeing ninja stars. Thank god for vicodin. You know the drill: drink plenty of plain water to flush it out.

Did he leave the strings just hanging there like a tampax string? Geez. My strings were knotted, curled and well taped to my lower abdomen for the stents I was allowed to remove myself. (The time there was enough damage that it had to stay in for 2 nasty weeks so he knew he'd remove it himself, he left the string inside the bladder so I couldn't do it myself.) Although freaky, pulling out one's own stent is far less painful, traumatic and expensive than having them pull it out for you so get the hand held mirror. I assume you've done this before but if not, it's easier if you have a full bladder and pee at the same time as you pull.

Good luck and hope the pain eases up fast.

No lithotripsy this time. This time it was laser. The sandis likely "dusted stones" from the past.

Got it. This was a pediatric stent and I'm just allergic enough to adhesive that we just left the string hanging...a small bit, at that.

I opted for a shower-based removal. Drug up, inhale, exhale slowly while smoothly removing the stent. Pain IS easing up w/out the stent. Thanks.

Dammit Sue. I am sorry you have to go through this. You are a tough lady, but you shouldn't have to rough it with the issues you battle. I hope you are feeling better.

Regarding my title. Other than some pain management injections in facet joints in the lumbar region and a possible nerve ablation, I am done with anymore procedures. I am feeling much better now that the sigmoid colon is out. Hopefully your shit and Clarissa's as well stops an the title goes unfilled for a long time.

You trying to compete with @DSRIGGS and @Charris now too?

Good luck for the surgery, and hope the drugs do their magic.
I have made an executive decision that the title shall go unfulfilled hence forth. Nobody is allowed to have any painful conditions or procedures. It is strictly prohibited without the consent of the executive board and the board shall not convene anytime soon! ;)
