Sometimes some of us need to find ways to add extra fat to our diet...this is one way:
Chocolate/peanut butter flavor by Elizabeth Ramsey

My fat bomb recipe (this is not what you typically find by googling "fat bomb recipe" which is what I had to do as well:
Mine was 2 sticks of butter, 8 oz of cream cheese...softened and then mixed. Added creamy peanut butter til I was happy with the feel. Then added cocoa powder (about a cup) and honey (I just poured til it looked right)...placed it in a buttered pan, froze it then got it out long enough to slice it in small squares and put in a container BACK in the freezer.

I tried the ice tray method...wasn't happy with the results...too hard to get back out and I had buttered the ice trays too.

Lemon cloud fat bomb recipe by another:
I used a funnel to get the mixture into ice trays. It made 25 "cubes" and of course I licked the bowl clean. I nuked the cream cheese and butter until melted, whisked in the coconut oil and heavy cream until smooth. Added vanilla, kosher salt, and Splenda. Put them in the freezer to set for an hour or so, and then I will pop them out and store in the fridge.

I changed the above lemon fat bombs:
16 oz of cream cheese, 3 sticks of butter, about a cup of coconut oil...added lemon juice (a cup), lemon zest...til I thought I had enough, and honey...absolutely HEAVENLY!!!! Licked the bowl.

How much is in a 'stick of butter'. Is it one like this? I'm guessing regular salted would be best, I just chose this pic coz it gave a view of the sides so you could get an idea. FYI the pic is of ~9oz of butter.

I just made these with Nutella substituted for the cocoa, peanut butter and honey. They taste exactly like the old Ice Cube chocolates you could buy at 7-11 years ago. Next time I will surely use UNSALTED butter. But these will certainly not go to waste.

I am going to use these instead of the 2 prunes I currently eat with every calcium dose to keep my skids greased.

I've done a similar recipe for low carb/paleo fudge. Fresh almond butter (that you grind yourself at the store), coconut oil, raw honey....(I always add a bit of cinnamon coz I love the stuff)...slap it in a container and freeze until set, cut into squares and keep in ziplocks in the freezer. Oddly addictive!

@Sheanie so you have made the fat bombs with unsalted butter now? Which did you prefer? I'm going to probably make some. I'm at full calcium doses and not getting in near enough fat.

Each stick is 1/4 lb, which is +/- 113 g

The product you show = 2 sticks.

@Terri , I like them better with unsalted butter. I also have a hard time getting in enough fat to keep my calcium from stopping things up. I've started using Mascarpone cheese on everything, in addition to adding lots of butter to things. It's a delicate balance. I still depend on my Magnesium Oxide to make me go. Never have had to increase it, in almost 4 years, either. Early out my stupid doctor said to just use Dulcolax. Uh, NO, that would be habit forming. She was an idiot, I fired her.

And if everything else fails, I can always resort to the Krispy Kreme cure.

I made them last night and went ahead with the unsalted butter. The unfrozen product tasted pretty good. I don't know for sure that I made them right. It was like a frosting and I spread in a pan and put in freezer. There is no way I could of put them in ice trays. As long as they keep me going is the main thing.

@Terri , I used those soft silicone ice trays and spooned it in and then slapped them on the counter a couple of times. Then froze them and popped them out into a Ziploc lidded container to keep in the freezer. I have done them flat in a cookie sheet, lined with foil. I have a narrow, tall freezer, though, so cannot use a pan in it.

And I just 2 weeks ago had to resort to the Krispy Kreme cure for a calcium blockage. I switched my calcium from Calcets (too much sugar) to calcium tablets, and I forget to eat my prunes with each dose. And so it goes.

These sound amazing! I was just looking for ways to add in more fat, as I do not get enough and my calcium is stopping me big time. Question, if the batter taste good as is, can you just refrigerate and eat the batter or should it be frozen to keep it all from seperating?

Those are some really good looking recipes and ideas, but, Peeps, I’ve been meaning to ask some fat related questions for some time now and I really am unclear on some of this. I hope to not sidetrack the thread, but it is closely related.

How much fat are we supposed to take in daily and how in the world do you measure it???? In other words, how can you measure that fat you eat from a steak etc? That all depends on the steak, how much it’s trimmed, how much of the fat you eat etc. So far, I haven’t even thought about counting fat, but yet I see all of you’ll doing it fairly religiously? With me getting 50% or more of my needed protein from the stupid shake still, I’m sure I’m not meeting whatever numbers I should be meeting, AND, how important is that AND what are the repercussions of not getting enough fat??? I’m assuming, you guys eat those “fat bombs” to help with digestion, i.e., constipation prevention etc.?

Rob, gonna answer you over in a separate thread so this discussion doesn't get lost.
