My name is Linda and I am awaiting an appointment for a duodenal switch.

Is it normal to go back and forth for weeks via phone awaiting my first actual appointment? I submitted a referral six weeks ago and have filled out paperwork emailed to me, but cannot send to get an appointment.

I am wondering if the entire process is this frustrating.

i think you are dealing with a Covid response to getting in to actually see a surgeon.

I just had my DS surgery last Thursday. My first Dr. Apt.was only Dec 7.

Back in the dark ages when dinosaurs roamed the earth, way before COVID. I was given a surgery date...2 YEARS in the future. Now let me add the really stupid part. I waited.

Hi and welcome Linda Lee . Hope it works out. For me and many others the most frustrating element was dealing with insurance, which can be quite a time sink. It's all worth it in the end. Keep your eyes on the prize!
