What's the reason for two different probiotics?

As I researched the board for posts on probiotic, I noticed several of you take 2 different ones. Usually it's Culturrelle, then another brand at a different time. What's the reason for the two different ones?

Usually because most of the do not have every possible probiotic in just one.

More variety of bugs. Higher chance something is in it that will help.

As always, thank you ladies! @DianaCox and @southernlady ....very helpful and insightful. One more question, do either of you do a mix based on "needs"? For example one that would help with digestion then one for vaginal flora? Or are those labels more for marketing purposes?

I use one I can remember to take. Most require refrigeration and I forget that kind. So I take just one but I eat a yogurt every morning to help.
