As long as the scale does NOT define you as a person or you let it rule your emotions for the day, it can be used. For those who prefer to keep off the scale or not post a public amount: You don't have to use actual scale weight but can say -/+ X.X lbs. Or use how pants fit, etc. The number on the scale is just ONE method to participate in those threads.
