So good it has to be a bad idea...

I was jonesing for apple cider from the local orchard. We went there this morning. Picked a very few tomatoes (it's getting past tomato season here...they split when the temp goes to 105° for a few days in a row), a few peaches, pears and apples. Sounds healthy-ish so far, right?

And at the cashier, where I had to go to pick up the cider, there it was...right next to the ground-locally peanut butter and almond butter. Yup...
Dark Chocolate Almond Butter.

In my defense, a "serving" (but I wouldn't use that much because I'd slobber it all over) is two tablespoons and contains 6 g of protein. Slathered on a toasted slice of my TJ no flour bread, it totals 11 g of protein.

We don't have to talk about the rest of the numbers, do we? Especially the ones next to "the 'c' word"... You know, carbohydrates.

Nope. Let`s not go there.

But my review is that I won't be sharing it with Mr. Sue or offering it to visitors, so don't bother stopping by.

I have part of a jar of Cookie Butter hidden deep in the pantry. I live alone so I guess I hide it from myself. I refuse to read THAT label!

Hmm, two Costco discoveries this week:

Meal Mart Hungarian stuffed cabbage: it is nearly as good as my bubbe's and that was my favorite meal she made. The sauce was very very generous - and just a little too sweet (made me want to drink it). 22 g protein to 60 g carbs (less if you don't drink the sauce, I assume). But DELICIOUS!

Snapea Crisps:

5 g protein to 17 g of carbs - it is amazingly good for what is in essence potato chips.

We got some rice snacks at Costco...made Kirmy taste test them. If rice cakes are cardboard, these are sweetened, crunchier cardboard. Not great, but not awful. (I don't know who "costco couple" is.)

Ahhh the rice cakes....did they make me shit? I can't remember. They were not too bad.

I went a little nutso and bought every flavor of this product some time ago: http://crackednutbutter.com/

They are squirreled away in the back of the fridge as some are too tasty to live close to the front. A few (taste wise) are best suited as add-ins to other treats.. some are crazy good right out of the jar.. but either way, at least the "c" word is less spooky than some I've seen.

Anybody who knows me in real life knows I buy Nutella by the 2.2# tub. And nobody eats it but me. Because I use the same spoon for the entire jar. It's really bad, and I'm sure it will catch up and bite me in the butt, literally, some day. But in 2 days I will be celebrating 5 years as a DSer, and I'm still staying at the same weight. So for now, I'll keep eating my Nutella with a spoon.
