I am trying to find out the difference between SIDS vs DS in its simpliest clarification. Also, What are advantages vs disadvantages?

Major difference is the DS has two Anastomsis, the SADI/etc has just ONE. TYPICAL common channel in a DS is about 100 cc. In a SADI/etc, it's 250 to 300.

Right now there is no REAL difference between the SADI/LoopDS/SIPS except for the difference in the common channel. It's mainly a squabble over naming rights. Kinda like a Bandaid is a bandage is a bandaid!

Look at the comparisons here: http://www.dssurgery.com/procedures/compare-weight-loss-surgical-procedures.php and read the posts here in this forum as well as the blog posts on http://www.dssurgery.com/blog/?s=SADI

The SADI has a huge risk of Bile Reflux because it is a loop. Just my bias, but there is not enough data on the SADI and the tough part of the DS surgery is dividing the duodenum so that is done in the SADI...the second anastomosis is a relative piece of cake so I see absolutely no advantage to SADI and DS has proven results.

Hey, you made it here! Good to see you here.

Read the posts @southernlady referred you to for lots of info about these different operations. And especially considering that you want a revision from one failed operation, do you really, really want to even consider something that is unproven? The DS - I mean the real, true DS with 2 anastomoses - has a well established track record as having the highest percentage excess weight loss, best maintenance of that weight loss, and best rate of resolution of almost all comorbidities of any bariatric surgery. It is a standard of care surgery and has been for years. Don't screw around with something unproven unless you want to be asking questions about a third bariatric surgery a few years from now.
