Roo's Before & Afters

Roo, do you have any tingling in your hand? Pins and needles sensation? That's what I started getting over a year after my injury. Then the feeling came back, but slowly. Did you get into physical therapy for the hand? Get referred to a neurologist? Get it diagnosed?

Love seeing your photos. The psoriasis going away is really noticeable. I can literally SEE your blood pressure going down in the progression of photos. You have much to be proud of.

Roo- did you see the doc yet about the hand? I don't remember if you already had the appt, curious to see what they said.

Well, I DID see a GP, but by the time I was done asking for some vitamins, she kicked me out and told me to make another appointment for my hand. Sooo I have an appointment with MY GP on the 16th to discuss the hand (and my thigh which has gone numb). My GP would never ever kick me out. That other GP was an old hag!

The neuropathy depresses me the most. Not the wounds, not the infections, not the lack of mobility, not the soul crushing back pain...but the lack of use of my hand. So we shall see. I bet I am referred to a neurologist which will take months upon months to get an appointment...so I'm not too hopeful really.

Having the psoriasis gone is amazing. Going 100% gluten free did that for me. And now with the DS, gluten is a non-issues so I should stay flake free :)

No PT for the hand or anything else. I may ask about PT in general as my mobility is still suffering hugely. I constantly move my hand cos Im in awe that I can move it, yet I can't feel or grip anything. I have burning/pins and needles and every once in a while a painful electric zap. :( I do hope it heals some day. I really really want to learn to play guitar.

Well, in MY experience, the "zaps" and pins and needles were a good sign. When I told the doctor about that, he told me that was the nerves regenerating. But that was 20-odd years ago, when my father had his first heart surgery in 1988 or so.

Maybe your surgeon is reluctant to refer you for PT because it could be construed as admitting injury during surgery? IDK, but it's not a valid reason to withhold treatment. Get another doctor to refer you if he won't. I'd also consult with a chiropractor, and a nerve specialist. Something could be out of place and pinching a nerve.

I mean, times a wasting here. Guitars to play, and all.

Well admitting injury during surgery would mean sod all here. He did mention referring me but would have meant another week + in hospital. I wanted out so bad I didn't care what I had to say or do. My GP wil hook me up :)

So this pins and needles zapping shit is a good sign? I just want/need someone to tell me it will all be ok eventually. I'm worried sick I will be stuck on disability for the rest of my life when there is so much left I want to do.

Roo I haven't been posting, but I read when I can. I wanted to let you know that I think about you all the time! I am praying you get relief with your hand as that seems to be what is causing you anxiety which makes the rest of the healing process very difficult! Take care!

Omg Stunning. Another beautiful and inspiring update. I am so proud of you. *happy dance*

Made another comparison today :) Only cos I looked and felt kinda cute :)
