I would still recommend a second opinion from a DS surgeon who is experienced in sorting out and fixing complications from prior bariatric surgeries. Even if the opinion is the same, it would give you more confidence in the care you are getting.
I agree. It certainly couldn't hurt.
 
Hi and welcome @flower ! Sorry for your suffering that resulted from the pneumonia - the related procedures sound horrible. I had my DS at U of C and have had other surgeries at various Chicago and Chicagoland area facilities. Feel free to PM me; happy to share my experiences with these hospitals if that helps. I do travel for medical reasons where I find Chicago comes up short in terms of specialty expertise, including to New Orleans to deal with my cancer and taking my 13 year old son to Los Angeles for the best care for his condition - he will likely have surgery in Houston this summer. Thus, I echo sentiments expressed above that it would be useful to travel to see a DS surgeon who is experienced with revisions, specifically Dr. Keshishian.
