First Visit with Surgeon finally scheduled!!!

With your help, I finally got the operative report from my VSG and faxed to my DS surgeon!! Woopie!!! I have my first visit with the surgeon January 18th. She told me to write down all my questions for the surgeon and send them to her, she will give them to the surgeon and she will answer all my questions on my first visit. I need your help again! What questions should I be asking the surgeon? I want to make sure I ask all the important questions. Also, now that it is scheduled, I am scared to death! I'm turning 67 in January. Is my age a big risk factor? My husband is worried, which makes me worried.

Most important question - make very sure your surgeon does a real DS and not doing the single anastomosis operation variously called SIPS or SADI or loop DS.

I have a friend who had a DS at age 62, and her health wasn't the greatest. She did fine and her health is much better now, and quality of life greatly improved. Lots of people have major surgery in their 60's these days.
