    Input on input?

You could try ThermaCare pads. They stick on and stay warm for up to eight hours. http://www.thermacare.com/lower-back-and-hip-heatwraps

Should we be thinking about building an ark?

Yeah, got pretty wet up here in Marin county. School was closed for the grandkids, but they have the flu anyways. My brother was without power all day in San Francisco. It finally came on for him in the evening.

15 year WLS veteran with an opinion to those considering WLS.

Wait, I am only a couple of months behind with my surgery and it was made very clear to me by Dr. Rabkin and his staff that I would have to take the dry forms of the fat soluble vitamins. I have to say that I don't hang around these forums because I am looking for answers. I got the answers I...

What happens when we get old?

My mom was in a SNF for a while. My biggest problem with them was meds. She was on Fentanyl patches. The ones they used were not labeled and looked like a small piece of adhesive plastic. An aide mistakenly removed it when they were bathing her. Just replace it, right? Nope. They first had to...

    Dad is sleeved, but...

Glad you father is doing better. With my surgery my urine output (even with a catheter) was very low. I was third-spacing and they tried increasing my IV fluids but my body just blew up like a balloon. Took a dose of lasix to get things moving again.

Anyone take Bone Booster from Vitacost?

I use Nature's Plus Cal/Mag Citrate. 3 capsules has 500 mg calcium citrate and 250 mg magnesium citrate. I take 6 capsules a day. That is my calcium citrate part of my calcium regimen.

New here - posting about recent bowel obstruction (questions and advice)

Did you have open surgery? Is the pain from the incision? Since I have never had a bowel obstruction, I can't speak about that, but I did have a very large incision with my DS and it was indeed quite painful for a couple of weeks, but the pain does decrease daily. I found the best medication for...

Anyone take Bone Booster from Vitacost?

I take Jarrow's Bone-Up, which is similar to Bone Booster. I take 9 capsules a day... 3 at a time. I take it with other vitamins. Also take Cal/Mag Citrate and I mix it up some with the Bone-Up. The only thing I keep separate from calcium is iron.

I wonder if using Procrit is a viable option in your case. http://www.procrit.com/

LONG--Anyone up for a game of Diagnose and Prescribe?

What would I do? Drink cranberry juice, take pain pills and call your gastro doctor tomorrow and discuss your best options for treating the symptoms while avoiding the risk of coming down with C-Diff.

    Ungrateful wretches, AKA adult children

Section 8 is tough to get. When my kids were little (so that was over 25 years ago) I applied for Section 8. I qualified for a 3 bedroom certificate, but since there was a five year waiting list for the 3 bedroom one, they gave me a two bedroom one instead. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a...

    CHarris...update!

Something like an "Advanced Health Care Directive"? That is a a "legal document in which a person specifies what actions should be taken for their health if they are no longer able to make decisions for themselves because of illness or incapacity". Which may be more power for the advocate than...

How about trying a smaller dose? Maybe that would keep the peeing at a more manageable level while traveling.

WTF? You know who is advocating daily enemas again for convenience

Last year there was a show called "My Secret Addiction" and one episode was a couple who were addicted to coffee enemas. The wife does four enemas a day and the husband does two. Their reason... http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/02/05/my-strange-addiction-coffee-enemas_n_2623016.html

    Shirataki Noodles?

If you use the shiritaki/tofu noodles and boil them for a couple minutes, the rubbery texture improves. The spaghetti ones are a great substitute for ramen noodles in ramen soup.

    Fiddle-ity D

Isn't Vitalady an ERNY? Basically having much more malabsorption that the regular RNY'er. Maybe you can contact her and see what her recommendations are for the regular RNY. I would hesitate taking a mega dose for an extended period of time without finding that out first.

    Rat Bastard.

Ugh. Brings back bad memories of a rat that invaded my mother's mobile home. Took a couple of weeks to trap him. In the meantime we saw him a number of times running round the corner in the house and could hear him at night gnawing a wall somewhere. We had to throw out a bunch of food my mom had...
