Sorry, I just saw this now. It seems to be related to gastric reflux, but it's not what I typically get. When I increase my reflux meds, it improves though. I still get it occasionally, then it's gone for awhile again, only to return. Did you get any answers?

Has anyone found their gastric reflux getting worse sometime after their DS? I was on 40 mg of Nexium a day prior to my surgery, which controlled my reflux perfectly. Not long after the DS, my GP dropped my dose down to 20 mg a day. My reflux seemed ok on that dose as long as I was on time...

It may be, but can that alternate with active reflux? I'm about to do a separate post about that, but this is so different and so odd, it just doesn't feel like it should be the same thing, lol.

Mmm...it's the same taste I've experienced when I've eaten baked goods that had too much baking powder in them. Perhaps it's something else in the baking powder that gives that taste. It's not a salty taste. Definitely more a burning, slightly acidic taste. It's not like heartburn, though.

Does anyone know what might cause a constant taste of baking soda from your throat into your mouth? I get it for a few days at a time, it disappears for a little while, and then back it comes!

I was very sad to hear about Dawn :(. But, @more2adore, from what @Elizabeth N. said on FB, Dawn's surgery wasn't a revision to a DS, it was a reversal (or partial reversal) of her DS, to deal with problems with malnutrition that she was having. All surgery has some risk, though, of course. But...
