    What did I do?

I'm will be 3 months out on the 22nd and in the last week or so I've noticed I'm feeling a lot better all of a sudden. I have more energy - not fully recovered energy but more than sit on the couch after work for most of the night. I'm getting into a pretty good routine with food and fluids...

    I have so many questions....

I'm 6 weeks out and I also had several of the same concerns and questions but have been pleasantly surprised for the most part. I don't seem to have the gas like everyone else but it's early. I burp a lot though and my tummy is still very noisy but it has gotten better since the first day...

I'm on my way...pre-op diet started today

Good luck. It really is worth it in the end. I thought my preop diet was hard but I managed and only cheated like twice and with just a little amount of food. I was on liquids for 2 weeks.

    Food tasting very blah??

Thanks Hilary! I'm prob not suppose to have bacon. My menu says puree pork, Turkey, chicken. I expanded upon it and just puree in my mouth by chewing it to a pulp. Also everything is suppose to be low fat so I'm sure that cuts bacon out. That hasn't stopped me.

    Food tasting very blah??

I'm 5 weeks post op and my diet has been advanced to puree with specific foods. I'm still drinking 2 protein shakes a day to make sure I get in my 60 grams at least. I'm working on 64 oz but am really only getting in prob. 50 to 60 ounces at the moment. I'm just finding that everything I'm...

    Swallowing Pills post DS

Thanks everybody! I thought it was strange that I couldn't have pills bigger than an aspirin. Now I will have to change how I take them, one at a time, I usually just take a handful and down they go. The only thing I could think of for wanting the smaller pills is they don't want anything...

    Swallowing Pills post DS

Thanks Larra - one problem, I cannot cut this pill in half. It's an extended release (which I am aware may not work anymore but doctor wanted me to stay on to see how things go before we switch anything up - happy pills can be a tricky thing to adjust). I'm actually trying to get a new...

    Swallowing Pills post DS

So I have a dilemma. One of my happy pills is about the size of 2 aspirins. I was told post surgery for a while at least that I couldn't swallow any pills greater than the size of an aspirin. I was supposed to get the pills in a lower strength and take more of them but insurance won't pay for...

    Weakness

Thanks everyone for responding. Munchkin: I am actually using the pre-made premier protein shakes which do have some potassium and sodium in it. I'm not getting nearly the amount you said we needed though. Spiky Bugger - I could buy my own protein shakes (although they tried to sell their...

    Weakness

So I'm using Premier Protein and of course it doesn't say on the container if its a meal replacement or supplement. It just says High Protein Shake. The back of it says "Enjoy a shake as a meal replacement or a healthy snack". I started on some sugar free Gatorade on Saturday (I was cutting...

    Weakness

Thanks for the reply bearmom. Will it always be like this or does the body adjust after surgery. I have read on hear that the first several weeks can be tough and energy can be low so I'm fully aware of that possibilities and I have even read a few have taken many months to get back to what...

    Weakness

I appreciate everyone's time to read my posts. I'm not trying to complain, just trying to understand what is going on with my body. I'm 8 days into my 2 week pre op liquid diet. I'm doing alright, getting vits and protein in for the most part (usually 4 30g protein shakes a day, one day only...

Constipated pre-op out of the ordinary

Too big to pass. I'm definitely pooping but it's hard and terribly difficult to get out. I also started my vitamin regimen too so I assume some of that might be contributing to it.

Constipated pre-op out of the ordinary

Hi everyone. I started my 2 week liquid diet on Tuesday. I was warned that liquid in = liquid out so I had been expecting diarrhea. Much to my surprise I'm actually constipated. I did not expect that one at all. I had my gallbladder out about 6 or 7 years ago and have not had one single...
