I was NOT prepared for this...

I am 5 months post op, just shy of losing 75% of my EW, and feel great. I had trouble digesting (not swallowing) the vitamins in the beginning, but am finally taking them with no issues. Perhaps it was my Celiac's that made it a little of a bumpier road? I don't know but I'm glad it's no longer...

    ONEDERLAAAAAAAND!

OK, so I am a little late posting this, but life has been crazy. I'm finally back in onederland! At 12 week out from my DS surgery, I am down a little over 50% of my excess weight and could not be happier. More important tahn what I've lost is what I've GAINED! I have a laundry list of things I...

    Post op Bra issues?

Thank you all for your responses. I am able to wear my bra a little longer the past 2 days, so I am assuming it is just slow internal healing since it is nowhere near my incisions. At home I go without a bra, but in public I cannot do that. I am a J cup... yes J, as in Jesus Christ your boobs...

    Vitamin Rebellion

My body IS NOT handling these vitamins well at all. I take the vitalady DS prepackaged set (33 total pills per day). Every single time I take a dose of the pills, I am in the bathroom for 1.5 hours (that's 4 times a day!). And yes, I know it is TMI, but it is to the point that my body is simply...

    Post op Bra issues?

I have tried a regular bra, removing my underwire, and a sports bra- none helped. It does not hurt where my incision is at all. It hurts further to the right where there is no incision, like something inside is being compressed. When I remove the bra I can feel throbbing for quite some time.

    Post op Bra issues?

I am 2 weeks post op from an OPEN DS. Healing beautifully, I feel, with no unexpected issues (with the exception of a vitamin episode today). I am able to hit the treadmill daily, can move fine, get in all of my fluids, etc. My incision site is a little tender if you push on it, but overall I am...

Feeling Like Violet in Willy Wonka

Thanks, all. @galaxygrrl, I could not help but sing Veruca's song after reading your post. hahaha. Been singing it all morning now. @Spiky Bugger, my surgery was open, but I imagine it is the same. Yes, I have pain in my shoulder but I've read that is common with gas post-op. Dr. Greenbaum just...

Feeling Like Violet in Willy Wonka

I am so bloated and constipated I can barely breathe. I know this is normal post op, but at what point does your doctor give you one freaking Gas X to help you out? This hurts worse than my incisions- literally. I stopped taking the pain meds bc they can make you constipated. In spite of that...

    Officially switched :)

I am pleasantly surprised with the recovery this far. Although I am not thrilled over the broken pump mix up, I am not hooked up to anything but my picc line. I can move around easily and walk without support. One thing is a little weird though, the fat lip I mentioned earlier has gotten worse...

    Officially switched :)

I had my open DS procedure on Friday afternoon @ 12:30 with Dr. Greenbaum. All went well, but I woke up with a huge fat lip. I'm guessing it is from the breathing tube as it was removed and I perhaps bit my lip as well? LOL. Who knows what happens when you are all drugged up. Anyway, recovery...

PANIC city: Greenbaum patients, feedback please.

Just had my surgery 15 hours ago. The hospital is fine, just older than Virtua in Moorsetown. Thanks for the feedback!

PANIC city: Greenbaum patients, feedback please.

My surgery is at Virtua Memorial in Mount Holly NJ on Friday. I am from PA and have never been to this hospital. The hosptial I have visited for office visits with Dr. Greenbaum have been at Virtua in Moorestown. It is clean and seems fine. I just read reviews for the Virtua Memorial, Mount...

Hello- Surgery scheduled and soooo excited!

@southernlady , Can you edit my surgery date? I cannot believe this, but Greenbaum changed it AGAIN! First was for December 28th, but my thyroid was bad so it was postponed. THEN it was March 1st but he failed to communicate that to his schedulers and it was booked by the time they caught the...

Hello- Surgery scheduled and soooo excited!

I was directed to this site in August by my sister as I was in the final stages of an external review for RNY. I had a lap band removed in 2009 due to complications and my insurance company was pulling the "once in a lifetime" routine. Long story short, THANK GOD my insurance company did not...

    Lightweights and Loose Skin?

Ha! Hell will freeze over before I EVER let the distinct possibility of loose skin be a deterrent for surgery. I am taking my life back, loose skin or not. Surgery is on for Feb 22nd! Just trying to mentally prepare myself for the life ahead :)
