Possible ketosis, does the funky taste ever go away?

Yeah, I think they're trying to milk us for every penny with their "food."

Possible ketosis, does the funky taste ever go away?

Hahaha! Day 4 of 30. I could just about eat my own arm right now. They said it was for the liver shrink, yada yada yada. I know I'm a big wuss; thank you (and everybody) for putting up with my whining!

Possible ketosis, does the funky taste ever go away?

I've heard that caffeine withdrawals can be brutal. I quit caffeine 4 months ago (was a diet soda fiend), but fortunately didn't have too tough a time with it.

Thanks - I guess everything is like breaking an addiction. Just another price to pay. Will mostly be glad to get off this crap fake "food!" :)

Possible ketosis, does the funky taste ever go away?

Am on day 4 of the 800 cal, low carb, pre-op diet. Have been averaging about 110-120 g protein, 40-50 g carb, 10 g fat daily. Must be approaching ketosis, because I feel the low-carb flu coming on. Headache, funky taste in my mouth, funky smell, fuzzy-headedness. Does the taste ever...

    surgery tomorrow

So glad you're home and doing well, Susan! Would like to know what protein chicken soup you're having - are you using Unjury? I just started the pre-op diet. Had the BariLife "oatmeal" this morning and OMG, it was awful.

United health Care - HCA (help for my mom)

Oh, my goodness! I sure hope everything goes okay with your mom. Maybe with records showing her clotting disorder in support of her case, they could approve her surgery. I wonder if they would see her as an out of network patient? The copays may be higher, but at least it's still an option.

United health Care - HCA (help for my mom)

Is she set on Dr. Smith, or would she consider another surgeon in Florida and would she be willing to travel? I met a lady who had it done at an HCA hospital in Jacksonville, FL

    I have a date

Thanks, everybody! As far as pre-op vitamins, here's what I'm taking right now. Please feel free to critique or offer suggestions for adjustment: 1 multivitamin 1x a day - I'm currently taking Alive! Max Potency multivitamin because that's what I'd been taking in the past and I just wanted to...

    Umbilical Hernia Repair

I had back surgery late last year (lower lumber fusion). Had leakage at the base of the incision for a few weeks. Docs said that it was most likely from the irrigation they used inside and possible adipose tissue necrosis (i.e., fat cells dying - is how I understand it). As long as the fluid...

    I have a date

My surgery date: March 30th. Dr. Williams in Knoxville, TN. At last, at last! The only cool part of the nutrition class was the part where they showed us photos where people had lied about not eating any solids 2 days prior to surgery. Otherwise, meh. Learned much more just reading here...
