Before my DS surgery, I was taking 2 Osteo Biflex tablets every day. It was taking the pain of my knee away. Since my DS surgery, it doesn't touch the pain. I wonder if I'm not absorbing the pills. Would it be safe to take 3 or 4 Osteo Biflex tablets per day? Just wondering if anyone knows the answer. Thanks for any thoughts on this.

Looks like it comes in tablets, coated tablets, gummies and some products in powder. What are you taking?

I think that the capsules could have powder...or...time release little mini pills...and that powder would work fine, but time release, maybe not.

The tablets are mostly coated and could be making it all the way through and out intact. I have a pill like that and it's not available in any other formulation. I use a pill cutter and SCORE the tablets, to give them a head start on getting dissolved in my stomach, which might not have enough acid to do the job without help.

I think'd try scoring the pills...if that's what you take, before doubling the cost...

Good luck.

I did start cutting the coated tablets in half, but still didn't help. I'll look for the gummies or powder tomorrow! Thanks so much for the info! I just can't stand the thought of another knee replacement, especially so soon after my DS.

Have you tried Synvisc or a similar product?

Osteo Biflex didn't work for me for my arthritis but ginger pills did. All they are are dried ginger which has been used overseas for hundreds or thousands of years. In USA, old world docs recommend it for nausea but don't seem to know about its strong anti-inflammatory aspects. In fact an old world doc had me take it for nausea and when I noticed my arthritis gone a few weeks later, he told me he and his wife take it for that very reason. IT WAS A MIRACLE!! I had been miserable for years -- nothing helped. I think they're 550mg ea. I used to take 6 a day, spread out. Yes, you need that many pills to start but can drop down to 4 once you feel results. Takes a few weeks to really kick in. At Walmart for about $3 a bottle -- far cheaper than Osteo Biflex. Oh, take with plenty of water and don't bend over or lie down for about a half hour until the pills move out of stomach or you may feel heartburn.

(It has minor blood thinning properties so stop before major surgery. I wouldn't take ginger if you take other blood thinners.)
