Sunday Weigh IN (8/20/2017)

THis is great to hear. I got 12 pounds to go and I'm 12 months out. A normal BMI for me is 141.

YES! It's the best NSV (well and skinny jeans ;-) )
I just noticed I had a typo, I said "surgery on 29th" but it was the 10th of June! I'm a shorty, only 5'1", thus the difference in our normal bmi threshold. You'll get there!

Congratulations, @Susan in Tennessee! You had had such a great, steady weight loss! Are you exercising?
Welll, hubs and I were walking most mornings until it got so hot and honestly I haven't been. I've been thinking I need to start strength training of some kind. I know it won't help this saggy, crepey skin, but a little more muscle might help the looks of my arms a bit! I also want to keep my bone density in good standing.

Darn that fourth week stall and auntie flo comikg to visit.
LW: 258.4
TW:256.6
Lost 1.8 lbs this week. :) not letting it get me down I am so close to my first goal of being under 250!!

Yes, same here on saggy skin, crepey skin, and the need to improve my strength. I exercise in spurts and need to be more consistent.
Good going on your steady weight loss -- it is very impressive!

Suffering from headaches that just won't quit this past week, and something I took (maybe aspirin?) has given me an upset stomach and diarrhoea this morning. And a sore throat is emerging...yuck! On the plus side, my weight is holding steady!

You will get there when it's time. Just keep at it.

Sorry you are under the weather. It's also possible the upset stomach and diarrhea is associated with your sore threat not the aspirin. Just stay hydrated and gargle with warm salt water.

Been stalled for 2 weeks :'(
Just keep plugging along. And make sure you are taking measurements as well.

Ate too many carbs this week and need to cut that out. I simply cannot bring a package of anything carby (i.e. pita chips) into the house. I thought I could eat a portion of pita chips (18 gm carb) with cheese, but within the day I ate half a bag. By the next day, they were nearly gone. This has left me feeling bloated and fat. Well, this is how we learn and today is a new day.

I haven't updated my measurements since April and did that today. Wow-- what a difference! Waist: 35 to 28. Thanks to hernia surgery.

Yes! Congrats. So, the carb thing. That is hard. You know, what my diet doc who does an optifast type program and works with Dr Rabkin on Psy evalutions said to me before surgery is after surgery you will be able to use all the tools we gave you in group. And that is true. So, I buy only small portion things and keep bad things out of the house. So, that means a little bag of pita chips or potatoe chips and not bringing any big bags of anything in the house. I have kid side ice cream ever day, but I get it as the scoop shop and never, ever bring it in the house.

And I know you know all of this, but it really helps me to go back to basics when i fall off the wagon which i seem to do all the time.

Oh, cut yourself some slack. This is what @southernlady wrote a while ago and it helped me.

This chart might help. (and notice, these are not by pounds but percentages)!
2 weeks - 5-10%
6 weeks - 10-15%
3 mos - 20-30%
6 mos - 45-55%
12 mos - 60-70%
18 mos - 75-85%

Lightweights of any surgery and DS'er lightweights in particular tend to lose ALL their excess by the end of the first year. BUT NOT in the first month. You are still healing, your body is pissy and things will change.

I do NOT count my highest weight since that highest was NOT even in the equation. My highest weight was in 2002. I didn't get the DS til 2011. ALMOST a decade later. So I go from my sign in weight at the surgeon's initial appt.

CHILL!!! :) Not chilling is stressful and stress can lead to weight GAIN!

Ugh I know. All of the situps in the world will not help my tummy be firm. And all the bicept curls will not help my arms. When can I get plastics. I found a Dr in Mexico that looks great for WLS saggy skin and I can get a LBL for $8K.
