If you are early out usually liquid in=liquid out. Diarrhea is NOT a normal state of affairs! First, define diarrhea, actual diarrhea is like peeing out your butt, if you have this, you need to check with your doctor and push liquids, you can become dehydrated in a hurry. It could be several things, one of the most common is C-diff.

If you have a large number of loose stools daily check your supplements.

Make sure you are not taking anything with magnesium oxide or anything with sugar alcohols in it. Do an elimination diet. I mean a real elimination diet. Add foods back in one at a time to find the culprit. MOST of the time loose frequent stools are diet related or supplement related. Probiotics help many things and this is one of them. You can add another dose of calcium to help firm things up. You can also add something like Benefiber. Again, don't add these all at once.
If you have loose smelly stools, you are either early out OR it can also be a sign of a bacterial overgrowth. Your doctor can diagnose this and give you a course of the appropriate antibiotics.

The other side of the coin is constipation, many of us suffer from this as a result of our supplementation.
1. Drink more, I don't care if you are getting a gallon a day, throw in another glass.
2. Add more fat. Just do it, you need it anyway.
3. Add magnesium oxide, even if you are taking the pill form of mag citrate. They have different effects.
4. Add stool softeners. They are not a laxative and your colon will not become dependent on them.
5. Add Miralax. This is not a laxative and is safe for children to use daily as long as you are taking in enough liquids.

There is no need to be miserable and unless you have a "special" condition these steps will usually work before your quality of life goes downhill.

I just posted about this. I am taking magnesium oxide, but just started it 2 days ago, and my D has been since surgery. I do eat sugar alcohols because they really make me miserable and sick. I do stevia.

Loose irritable bowels early out are pretty normal. I would ditch the magnesium oxide even though your problem is ongoing. It has a notable side effect of causing loose bowels and you don't need any help.
 
Also a side effect of most PPI's can be diarrhea. After you have done everything else maybe change that to a different one.
 
If anyone needs a free laxative I have a tree full of bing cherries, but you should plan to be alone the night after!:D :p
 
Good to know. The Vitalady calcium hurt me a few weeks ago and I stopped it. Now that I have the opposite problem of constipation, maybe it's a good time to try it again. Thanks for this post @SHales

I have no experience yet with a DS, (hopefully, soon), however, organic coconut water and fresh brewed sliced up organic ginger root tea (on the strong side) will clean the intestines out.
